I installed my Aquasana AQ4000 filter about a month ago, and it's easy to see why this filter has received the Consumer Digest Best Buy Award for five years running.
It took me less than five minutes to install the filter. After letting the water run for a few minutes to flush out the filter, I grabbed a glass from the cabinet.
With my first sip of water, I could taste the difference. Out of curiosity, I filled a glass with non-filtered water from my bathroom sink and compared it to the filtered water from my kitchen sink. Not only could I taste the difference, but I could actually see the difference, too! The filtered water looked pure and crystal-clear compared to the non-filtered water. I sure am glad that I'm no longer cooking with that cloudy, contaminated tap water.
Before installing my AQ4000 filter, I normally drank expensive bottled water - but, because I'm aware that plastic bottles leach dangerous chemicals into water, I wasn't drinking enough water. Now that I have a home water filter, I've been drinking a lot more water, and I can feel the difference. My mid-afternoon headaches are less frequent, the stiffness of my neck has improved, and I've lost a few pounds. Even my house plants are looking healthier since they've been getting watered with pure, chlorine-free water. This home water filter is certainly the "best buy" I've made in a long time!
My only complaint is that hot water can damage the filter, so you have to remember to turn off the filter before turning on the hot water. But this is a minor complaint, especially since you can easily turn off the filter with the push of a button. All things considered, this seems to be the best affordable, hassle-free home water filter out there.
