Dr. Doug Pray recommends Ambrosia Water Filters in his new book I Don’t Go with Fat Boys: Weight Loss for People who Love to Eat.
Here’s an excerpt from the book (which is now available on Amazon.com):
You Are What You Drink
Water may be considered the fourth macronutrient. While you can survive for several weeks without food, you can only survive for a few days without water. The body is 72 percent water, and it’s necessary for flushing out toxins and waste.
If you’re trying to lose weight, you should drink at least eight tall glasses of water a day. When you don’t drink enough clean water, your kidneys cannot properly perform their job of filtering waste and toxins – and part of their workload gets dumped on the liver. This interferes with the liver’s ability to metabolize fat stored in the body.
When you drink enough water (at least eight tall glasses a day), then your liver can metabolize fat much faster, and your intestines can absorb nutrients more efficiently, which helps to eliminate food cravings. The result is natural, healthy weight loss.
Adequate water consumption is also the best way to reduce water retention. When you don’t drink enough water, your body perceives this shortage as a threat and therefore retains more water, which causes swelling, bloating, and weight gain . . . Drink two glasses of purified water before each meal to aid in weight loss.
Be sure to drink purified water. Tap water or even bottled water may contribute to your body’s toxic load. You can find a quality home water purifier for under a hundred bucks. See www.AmbrosiaWaterFilters.com for several different options.
