How the Crystal Quest Countertop Bottleless Water Cooler Works

Stage 1: A one-micron filter pad removes suspended particles like silt, sediment, cysts, sand, rust, and dirt.
Stage 2: A granulated activated carbon (GAC) cartridge absorbs a wide variety of contaminants including chlorine, chlorination byproducts (THMs, benzine), pesticides, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), PCBs, MTBEs, and hundreds of other synthetic chemicals that may be present in your water. The GAC cartridge also eliminates bad tastes and odors.
Stages 3 and 4: Two beds of KDF media (KDF-55D and KDF-85D) utilize copper and zinc to electrochemically remove contaminants. KDF works by oxidation-reduction (REDOX) to instantaneously oxidize contaminants.
Stage 5: A final one-micron filter pad removes any remaining contaminants.
