Crystal Quest Countertop Fluoride Water Filter
|
Fluoride is added to virtually all public water supplies in the U.S. for the purpose of preventing tooth decay. Recently, mainstream scientific publications such as Scientific American have revealed that the consumption of fluoride alters endocrine function, makes bones brittle, and lowers fertility rates.
To effectively remove fluoride from your water, you need either a reverse osmosis water filter or a filter that contains activated alumina (aluminum oxide) such the Crystal Quest Countertop Fluoride Water Filter.
The Crystal Quest Countertop Fluoride Water Filter contains aluminum oxide media filter with a high affinity for fluoride, lead, and arsenic. A second multi-stage filter removes other contaminants plus any aluminum residue from the first stage of filtration.
Crystal Quest Countertop Fluoride Water Filter Features
- Stylish stainless steel or classic white filter housing looks great in any kitchen.
- Activated alumina media will reduce fluoride below 0.5 PPM. (Most public water supplies have fluoride levels of at least 1.0 PPM.)
- The filter is easy to install at the kitchen sink. No plumber required. No tools required.
- Switch between filtered and unfiltered water with the push of a button.
- Natural minerals remain in the water.
How the Crystal Quest Countertop Fluoride Water Filters Works
Stage 1: The activated alumina (aluminum oxide) fluoride removal filter adsorbs fluoride as well as arsenic and lead.
Stage 2: A 1-micron pre-filter captures suspended particles like sand, silt, and dirt.
Stages 3 and 4: KDF55 and KDF85 REDOX media reduces iron, mercury, chromium, other dissolved metals, and hydrogen sulfide (which causes a rotten egg odor). KDF media also inhibits the growth of scale, bacteria, algae, fungi, and other microorganisms through the filter.
Stage 5: An ion exchange resin removes heavy metals like lead and aluminum from the water.
Stage 6: Granulated activated carbon (GAC) removes chlorine, bad tastes and odors, pesticides, and synthetic chemicals linked to cancer risk (such as benzene and THMs).
Stage 7: A 1-micron post-filter pad removes any remaining particulate matter.
