How the Crystal Quest Eagle Whole House Water Filter Works
Stage 1: The water flows through a 20" sediment filter cartridge that removes sediment, silt, sand, and dirt. This filter also extends the life of the main filter.
Stage 2: The water flows through a bed of KDF REDOX (oxidation/reduction) media made of a special alloy blend of copper and zinc. The electrochemical oxidation/reduction action is a major advancement in water treatment technology that works on an electrochemical level to remove many unwanted contaminants like chlorine, iron, hydrogen sulfide, and heavy metals such as lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, cadmium, and aluminum. The REDOX filter also inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold throughout the entire filter.
Stage 3: An ion exchange resin reduces heavy metals like lead, copper, and aluminum, as well as water hardness.
Stage 4: The water flows through a second REDOX media bed.
Stage 5: A granulated activated carbon (GAC) filter adsorbs a wide array of chemicals such as chlorine, THMs, benzene, pesticides, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), PCBs, MTBEs, and hundreds of other synthetic chemicals.
Stages 6 and 7: The water flows through special alkalizing medias made from a blend of natural calcium carbonates. This helps to balance the pH level in your body. High acidicity has been linked to premature aging and inability to lose weight.
Stage 8: The water travels through a bed of gravel that provides backwashing support.
Stage 9: Two powerful magnets (greater than 12,000 gauss) create a magnetic field for the magnetic resonance activation of the water. This process lowers surface tension, increases solubility, and increases absorptivity. Magnetic resonance activation also alters the physical characteristic of minerals in the water so they don't cling to plumbing or surfaces as readily; in this way, it controls lime and scale build-up and protects the plumbing from corrosion.
Stage 10: The water flows through a 20" solid carbon block filter that removes VOCs, industrial solvents, pesticides, and other dangerous synthetic chemicals.
Stage 11: A 0.01-micron ultra-filtration membrane removes any remaining colloids, proteins, bacteria, viruses, parasites, and other contaminants to create the purest water available.
Crystal Quest Eagle Whole House Water Filter Specifications
Placement: Connects to main water line through a 3/4" or 1" stainless steel bypass valve.
Filtration Technology: 11-stage filtration includes sediment filter, KDF REDOX, ion exchange resin, granulated activated carbon, calcium carbonate media, magnetic resonance activation, solid carbon block, and ultra-filtration membrane.
Filter Life: 350,000 gallons
Flow Rate: 20 Gallons Per Minute
Maintenance: No backwashing necessary! This is a self-backwashing system that's controlled by a microprocessor. Simply replace the Eagle filtration media every 3 to 5 years (depending on the quality of your water supply); replace the ultra-filtration membrane cartridge and carbon block filter cartridge every 3 to 5 years. Once a year, replace the sediment filter cartridge. Note: You may need to replace the sediment filter cartridge more frequently if your water contains a high level of sediment.
Filter Housing: durable stainless steel
Certified: The KDF REDOX media is ANSI 61/42 certified; the granulated activated carbon media is ANSI 42 NSF certified; and the ion exchange resin is ANSI 61/42 WQA seal certified.
Dimensions: 14" x 7" x 26"
Weight: 20 pounds
Warranty: 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty
While installation may be performed by a skilled do-it-yourselfer, we recommend professional installation by a licensed plumber. Attempting to install the system yourself will void the warranty.
